The Sumatran Tiger is a subspecies of the the Saber-tooth tiger which was alive 35 million years ago. The subspecies came to be about 25 million years ago. The earliest remains found of a tiger was from China and from the fossils found there, it shows that back then tigers were smaller than they are now. It is said that the Sumatran Tiger is very different from other tigers. The Sumatran Tiger's theory was that they were isolated from other Tigers more than 12 million years ago. They were isolated because the sea levels raised. This resulted in making the Sumatran Tiger so very unique for its genetic profile and beauty.
