SUMATRAN TIGER'S BIODIVERSITY
The Sumatran Tiger lives in the Indonesian Rainforest along with many other species. The species include the Orangutan, the Javan Rhinoceros & Sumatran Elephants, breeding birds, and a lot of plant diversity. The Sumatran Tiger is the only surviving species of the Indonesian tigers. Its very low population is believed to only add up to about five hundred tigers, and one hundred fifty breeding pairs. There are many threats where the Sumatran Tiger lives, such as the destruction of the habitat being made into pulp plantations. Scientists say that the existing tigers are not likely to live long because each breeding pair needs a lot of space that the forest cannot provide. These areas need to be protected so the Sumatran Tigers can survive and live in the Indonesian Rainforest.
